ATTN:

Okay my fellow bloggers, crafters, followers, etc.
My posting schedule is not working out (obviously).  I am having a hard-time keeping up on this blog.  So excuse the delay in my posts (which I will be making up for), but right now I need a break and time to strategize my next move, that being organizing and keeping a more disciplined schedule to the blog and my followers.  As some many know I'm attending school full-time, I'm a full-time mommy, and I literally do everything!  So needless to say I'm a busy-bee and on top of it, I'm exhausted... I need to get through this weeks homework, housework, and work on some renovations that we have coming in my home.  I'm not superwoman, not like I used to be so I'm taking a small (probably a month) break from the blog.  We'll continue where we left off and I promise there will be more crafts to post too, because I've got stuff to make for people as well.  As May was to be our month to duct-tape, when I come back I'm hoping to hit ya with a double dose of duct-tape and whatever I have planned for June.  And thank you to my followers and their loyalty, I'll be back soon! ; )

Pin of the Week April 21 - 28

So has everyone been getting their gardening on?  I  know I have (hint-hint- sorry for another late pin of the week... we'll be taking pictures and expanding more on gardening this summer!)

So you might have noticed I shared the burlap flowers because of this weeks post.
-to get the full tutorial.

But since we're looking at hand-bags, we're doing a double-dose, because a gal can NEVER have too many of them, especially super cute ones!

She has a blog, but these she doesn't share her tutorial and sells them at her shop, she has other amazing tutorials at her blog @ http://sylvieliv.blogspot.com/ but I have one more pin of the week next week that may give you more insight on how to make this! ;)

Tasty Recipes April 24th 2013

Sorry I thought, this was the 3rd Tuesday this month and it's the 4th....because there's 5, but hey the good thing is I'm starting to keep up with my posts... Any who, this is "flavorful sprite"- Freeze different fruit juice in ice trays and put in glass. Pour sprite over ice cubes. Great flavor! I hope you all enjoy!  Especially with summer just around the corner...

Scrabble Letters

Crafty Creations for April 11th, 2013
-Okay April 13th was "Scrabble Day".  Unfortunately I wasn't able to post this when I had scheduled to, otherwise this would have made some of the listed "Month Events" fun.  But just having this in my home makes me smile so I still HAVE to share it!

o
I was inspired by this from a Pin I saw on Pinterest, which came from this blog (where there's a tutorial of how they done theirs): http://www.remodelaholic.com/2011/03/scrabble-living-large-family-names-art-project/

I on the other hand had done mine a bit more cheap and different. FIRST- make out the scrabble pattern that will fit everyone's names you want added in this project!  I through in the word "Family" to give it more volume.  You can throw in a word if everyone's names do NOT fit together, such as: Family, Home, Love, or Live-Laugh-Love, or even the family pet(s) name; just some suggestions. Two, I went to my local JoAnn's store and got some thin, wood shapes (obviously all square ones and cost like .90 cents ea. but they were on sale so I got them for .60 odd cents).  I had some vinyl, adhesive letters already cut-out left over from a past project of my moms or mine and just stuck them on the squares.  Then I couldn't remember all the points the letters were, so I googled that and took a fine sharpie and carefully wrote the points on in a way that was similar to real scrabble pieces. *Note: sharpie bleeds, so I'd suggest maybe trying a gel pen, or if you do use a sharpie just be careful when you press to write, it doesn't bleed bad, but I don't want to lead my viewers on to something that are not happy with.  Last, instead of using nails, or adhesive foam hanging tape, I used white sticky-tack.  Yes, it can be a bit more difficult to find, even at Wal-Mart, there was none!  I believe I found it at JoAnn's as well, with the 3M adhesive hooks.  This way it makes for easy removal if need to be moved and whatnot, no paint peeling, etc.  I would say all the materials, if I had bought them all at once would have ran me about $20 (max., give or take).  So if you decide to make your own as well, and you live on a budget such as myself, I hope that will be helpful.  I absolutely adore this project, because I am a huge Scrabble Buff, which made it very much fun!  I hope you enjoy it too!

MY Bathroom (part 2)

Crafty Creations for April 4th, 2013
-In light of April becoming our month to "Burlap".  I thought I ought to finally share the other half of "MY Bathroom" Project.

I figured after a few hot steamy showers the burlap would relax a litter, and eventually it did.  This was very simple.  above the mirror I hammered in two small nails on each side of the light to hook the burlap.  On the drapes where it was a bit too thick and around the upper corners I just tucked some of the fabric behind the mirror and it automatically secured itself.
Above the burlap as you can see I cut up some silk flowers and fake floral with some needle nose plyers (DO NOT USE SCISSORS) to give me about 3 inches of thick wire and just stuck the fake plants into the the burlap's tiny squares, no glue, and was secured.  Same with the the nest, although I had to glue the eggs in with my cool glue gun, but the nest had long stick pieces to secure into foam or other material, which worked well with the burlap.
The birds came with clips on the bottom of them so I just clipped them to the floral as if they were sitting on them, and moved the floral around some so I could hide the clips in order to give that "natural" nature allure.
I had bought everything from my local JoAnn's store, except for the pine like branches, I had purchased at my local Hobby Lobby store.  I'd say all the materials cost me no more than $30 (max.). I collect my coupons and get everything on sale or discounted somehow, between apps, e-mails, mailers, and site coupons, it can all add up in your favor.

I truly hope you enjoy this project because even though someone may have done something like it (which I haven't seen yet), this is one of those special ideas that just popped into my head, and I really think it came out to be a beautiful project and inspire some of you!

Crafty Creations

What's the difference between "How To's by my Design" and "Crafty Creations"?  Well, I'll tell ya....
"How To's by my Design" would/ and can be apart of "Crafty Creations" because it was my crafty creation, however, they're specifically made from my brain, although I've found others have made something similar afterwards, these weren't inspired from someone else. "Craft Creations" is stuff I made whether it was inspired by a magazine, book, blog, Pinterest, any other social networking page, or just floated out my head one day.  However most have been inspired, if inspired from Pinterest.  Any who, so you all don't think I'm a total ditz, that is why I separated the two.  When I get a great idea it doesn't occur often, so I want to share what comes out my creative mind and let it be known that "I thought this!" (lol)

Pin of the Week April 14-21

I don't care what anyone says, or what season it is burlap is always a YES!

If it looks too autumn-y to you, there's always burlap that is colored and fabric dyes, which makes for a full range of ideas and ways you can use the "burlap roses".  For the full tutorial and video clip you go to http://leenthegraphicsqueen.blogspot.ca/2012/10/burlap-rose-tutorial.html.

Pin of the Week April 7 - 14

Place mats.  They're really nice to have when little ones are running around, so why not use them to bring some style to your table!

Truly lovely and cute!  I love the "natural" look in almost everything, like your earthy tones, which I'm thinking about going with a major bedroom renovation project that will be built on everything natural.
This is a cute and simple project, no sewing involved.  You can check this project out at: http://thefinalboardingcall.blogspot.com/2012/07/diy-burlap-placemats.html

Once Again...

My life had been a bit overwhelming, I apologize for the delays in everything but everything has to be put on hold for a minute.  I'm not too much of a religious person, but please pray my daughter gets over her illness soon, with a quick recovery and it doesn't come back again. I know I'm being vague, but that's all I can share for now.  I never get scared whenever she gets ill but this time it's getting kind of scary. Thank your for your time and patience.

Crafty Creations will be posted sometime this evening...

All my data/pics/info is on my other computer and so there will be a slight delay but there will be a new post sometime tonight, so no one worry. Also I'll still be posting an April Fool's day prank list. (We like to have fun here) and we don't need it to be April fool's to do pranks! Also I really don't have anything for Children's book Day, I do but I don't want to share until I've made it, so this will have to wait until next, BUT I promise I got an AMAZING idea(s).  ; )

Tasty Recipes for April 2nd

Pin of the Week Mar 31 - Apr 7

This month we're dedicating everything to BURLAP!!!

Inspired by Ralph Lauren, one our famous American Designers, I bring you, a ruffled BURLAP table cloth. This can go indoors/outdoors, and with Spring/Summer around the corner makes for a fantastic Spring/Summer theme, but truly could be used year round.

To DIY check out Jennifer at http://celebratingeverydaylife.com/how-to-make-a-ruffled-burlap-tablecloth-easy-sewing-diy/ where the tutorial is included.  Definitely will be making one of my own in the near future!

Dear Followers,

I apologize for the pin of the week being late and an April fools Day special that I didn't get posted due to sudden horrible flu attack in my household.  But Regardless that April Fool's Day is over I'll still be posting a list of some awesome pranks because it doesn't have to be April Fool's Day to pull off pranks.  So Pin of the Week and the April fool's Day special will still be posted sometime tonight, thank you for your patience.
